McClain FFA members compete in public speaking contests

Lead Summary
By
Abby Mustard-
McClain FFA has nothing but praise for several of their FFA members as they conquered the number-one fear in America during the sub district public speaking event at Lynchburg-Clay High School.

Brooke Baldwin, Olivia Brewer and Kate Barrett did an outstanding job representing the chapter in the FFA creed contest. Baldwin will move on to the district contest.

Cade Sponcil participated in the beginning prepared speaking event and delivered a five-minute speech from memory and answered questions. Sponcil finished in first place and will move on to the district contest.

Aly Murphy competed in the extemporaneous speaking event. She had to draw a topic, then she was given 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech. Murphy finished first and will move on to the district contest.

Congratulations to all of our speakers, and good luck moving forward.
