Lynchburg-Clay H.S. hosts Science Fair

On Thursday, Feb. 20, Lynchburg-Clay High School held its 7th annual Science Fair.

Approximately 130 students designed a scientific experiment, conducted research, wrote a research report, and participated in a personal interview with a judge.

Judges for the event included retired and current teachers, professionals, and community members.

Projects ranged in topic from chemistry to biology and physics to genetics.

Twelve projects which received a Superior rating were selected to represent Lynchburg-Clay at the District Science Day which will be held at Wilmington College on March 15, 2014.

Those students selected to compete at the district include Julie Arnett, Hannah Bauer, Noah Buck, Brittany Ernst, Makayla Fittro, Halie Frazier, Hayley McConnaughey, Alex Pinkerton, Keysha Taylor, Quinn Walker, Alexis Waits, and Tristan Wilbanks.

These students each received a rosette along with their choice of a gift certificate which was donated by Frisch’s, Terry’s Grocery, Kroger of Mt. Orab, and Ponderosa.

The science fair was coordinated by high school science teachers Lara Hamilton, James O’Connor, and Alicia Shope.
