The Lynchburg-Clay FFA junior and senior members attended a recent Ag Reality workshop that was held at the Patriot Center on Southern State Community College’s campus.

During this event, the members had the opportunity to farm a plot of ground for a day. Students were charged with the idea of managing ground for a year, on paper, by visiting the many businesses that were in attendance.

Members had to determine what crops or livestock that would be raised, what production practices to follow, and how to harvest and market their yields to generate income. Members were also given a life scenario where they may have had a family with or without children, held an off the farm job, owned a house, or had to create their own living arrangements.

FFA members who participated in the event felt like the day was a success and they were able to put into practice the knowledge that they have learned from their agriculture classes and experiences.

The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter would like to thank the Highland and Brown County OSU Extension offices for organizing the event and all the business’ that were in attendance.
