On Nov. 3, the Lynchburg-Clay FFA chapter held our Chapter Job Interview contest was held at Lynchburg-Clay High School. One hundred percent of the members in attendance competed in the contest during their class period.
Prior to Nov. 3, the members were required to complete a cover letter, résumé with references and a job application. After the members completed their one-on-one with a judge, they were expected to compose a follow-up letter regarding their experience with their interview.
The chapter would like to thank the following individuals for donating their time by interviewing the members: Mr. Josh Carroll, Mr. Damien Pitts, Miss Lisa Rhonemus and Miss Marisa Smith.
Congratulations to the following members that advanced to compete in the Sub-District Job Interview Contest: Autumn Griffith, Chloe Watson, Somara Donley, Emily Robinson, Brayden Eversole, Natasha Davidson and Dawson Osborn.
On Nov. 11, the Lynchburg-Clay FFA hosted the Sub-District Job Interview contest for Highland County. FFA members from all five Highland County FFA Chapters were able to participate in the event.
Prior to the contest, each member had to submit their cover letter and résumé, along with references, so they could be scored by the contest judges.
At the contest, each member was required to fill out an application. Next, they completed the mock interview with two judges. After their interview was over, they had to write a follow-up letter based on the interview.
The Job Interview Contest is one of the most practical contests the FFA participates in on an annual basis. Members gain the confidence and knowledge to successfully compose a cover letter, résumé and follow-up letter and to complete an actual interview.
Representing the Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter were: Autumn Griffith and Chloe Watson in Division I; Somara Donley and Emily Robinson in Division II; Brayden Eversole and Natasha Davidson in Division IV; and Dawson Osborn in Division V.
Congratulations to Osborn and Eversole from the Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter for advancing to the District 9 Virtual Job Interview Contest.
