Local Talented & Gifted students take field trip to Pennsylvania

Highland County’s Talented & Gifted (TAG) students recently experienced Philadelphia, Valley Forge and Gettysburg, Pa. on their annual TAG field trip.
The 46 fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders and six chaperones toured Philadelphia with stops at Carpenters’ Hall, the Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, Independence Hall, the National Constitution Center, Betsy Ross House, the Benjamin Franklin Museum, Elfreth’s Alley, the Franklin Institute of Science and The B. Free Franklin Post Office Other highlights of the trip included an educational program entitled “A Soldier’s Life,” as well as guided tours of Valley Forge National Park and Gettysburg Military Park.

Students attending from Fairfield Local Schools were Noah Allering, Cody Ayers, Makenna Colwell, Caiden Fauber, Kylie Fauber, Halle Hamilton, Braxton Harrison, Kylie Heizer, Nayomie Ludwick, Grace Matthews, Laci Muhlenkamp, Rilee Storts, Caleb Vidourek, Bella Warner and Brayden Zimmerman.
Students from Hillsboro City Schools were Julie Benkiel, Zackery Carter, Kyah Chaney, Eden Edenfield, Evan Fender, William Hart, Abigail Koogler, Scott Maginnis, Aiden McGinnis, Duncan Pickering-Polstra, Elena Pickering-Polstra, Nathan Powell, Madalyn Ross, Travis Ross, Garen Ryan, Jacob Smith, Sophie Snively, Cain Stone, Nicholas Turner and Jackson Wagoner.
Bright Local School District was represented by Connor Butler, Evan DeAtley, Chandra Hill, Madison Knox and Annie Wilmoth.
Lynchburg-Clay students included Ryan Baker, Ethan Griffin, Ryan Mau, Konner Miller, Jenna Waits and Landon Wolfe.
Chaperones for the trip were Mrs. Tonia Armstrong, Mr. Jason Ayers, Mr. Mark Holmes, Mrs. Joni Minton, Mrs. Michelle Ryan and Mrs. Megan Wagoner. The trip was coordinated and chaperoned by Kimberly Douglas, Coordinator of Gifted Services for Highland County, in conjunction with Lisa Pfouts of Eagle Rock Tours of Fredericktown.
