LC Bands bowl for FUNdraiser

The LC Band Bowl-a-thon is in its third year and continues to help the growing number of students who participate in the bands. The 200 students in grades six through 12 have been collecting sponsors for the past couple of weeks. Sponsor donations consist of per-point pledges and flat donation amounts. The eighth grade and high school bands have completed their trip to Highland Lanes and the sixth and seventh grade bands will be going this coming Friday.

"I cannot thank Shane Ison and the great folks at Highland Lanes enough for their support in accommodating our large groups. I really encourage any group looking for a great day of fun to contact Shane and hit the lanes.”
The LC Band program continues to grow each and every year. A program that had only 30 members in grades six-eight and zero high school band members in the fall of 2003 has grown to four ensembles that include our 60 member marching band.
“Our program continues to grow and that will always require more instruments, materials, uniforms, and other equipment,” Car said. “The Lynchburg Clay Board of Education has always been very supportive of our efforts and combined with the Music Boosters they do their very best to help meet our program needs.”
The 6th and 7th grade band students will be going bowling this Friday. If anyone would like to sponsor any of the students or make a donation, contact Mr. Carr at either LC High School or Middle School. In addition, if anyone has an instrument of any condition they would be willing to donate to the school, please contact Mr. Carr.
