Laurel Oaks students learn teamwork at Camp Joy

More than 170 Laurel Oaks juniors spent one of their last days of school participating in leadership and team building activities at Camp Joy.
Students coming from nearly a dozen area school districts worked together to accomplish various tasks throughout the camp.
The activities were the result of a grant from the Robert E. Lucas Memorial Fund of the Clinton County Foundation.

Camp Joy staffers created team-building activities for the students, who will be seniors at Laurel Oaks Career Campus next year.
"Because our students stay together as a small group in their career major for two years, they learn and work as a team," said Laurel Oaks Dean of Instruction Mike Thomas. "With that background, they'll be more successful in high school and beyond."
"The Laurel Oaks community is very thankful to the Robert E. Lucas Memorial Fund and Camp Joy for the experience and hopes to extend the positivity built during the program to next school year," said Assistant Dean Mike Hart.
