Kyle W. Rudduck, Brian L. Prickett of Wilmington appointed to Southern State Community College Board of Trustees

Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich’s office has announced two appointments to the Southern State Community College Board of Trustees. Brian L. Prickett and Kyle W. Rudduck, CFA, both of Wilmington, will serve for terms continuing through May 11, 2020.

The latest appointments fill the remaining two open positions on the college’s board. Also serving as SSCC Trustees are Chair Doug Boedeker, Vice Chair Mike Pell, Michelle Cimis, Paul Hall, Bob McEwen, Donald Moore and Brian DeBruin.

“We were excited to hear the announcement about Governor Kasich's latest appointments to Southern State's Board of Trustees. We now have a full board,” said Dr. Kevin Boys, SSCC President. “Mr. Prickett and Mr. Rudduck bring with them enthusiasm about the role of our college in our communities and a sincere desire to simply serve their communities through this role.”

Chosen by Ohio’s governors, the nine trustees who comprise the SSCC Board of Trustees establish policy; select, hire and evaluate the president; review and act on financial matters; and establish schedules of institution-wide fees and tuition. KYLE W. RUDDUCK, CFA
Kyle Rudduck works as a wealth adviser for Truepoint Wealth Counsel in Cincinnati. He earned his bachelor of science degree in economics, graduating cum laude from Capital University. Rudduck’s employment experience also includes Vice President/Portfolio Manager and Wealth Adviser II with National Bank and Trust; Consultant in Valuation Services with Sinaiko Healthcare Consulting; Practice Manager with Comprehensive Medical Practice Management; and Analyst with Huron Consulting Group. 

Rudduck is a graduate of Leadership Clinton 2014 through the Clinton County Leadership Institute, as well as a member of CFA Institute, CFA Society of Cincinnati and Energize Clinton County.

“I'm extremely excited to join the Southern State team and sincerely appreciate the vote of confidence from the Governor's office, House Speaker Rosenberger, and all of the others that assisted in providing me with this opportunity,” Rudduck said. “The Southern State institution is critically important to our community, and in an era in which college costs seem to be increasing at an exponential pace, provides residents with an opportunity to ensure a quality education remains within reach.

BRIAN L. PRICKETT
Brian Prickett serves as Chief Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, where he has worked since 1984.

A graduate of Southern State’s law enforcement program, he also earned his bachelor’s degree in public safety management, graduating summa cum laude from Franklin University. He became a certified law enforcement manager through the FBI National Academy, a certified corrections officer through Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, and a certified peace officer through Greene County Career Center.

In addition to his law enforcement work, he is also a licensed Realtor with Bennett Realty in Wilmington. 

His local service includes past and current membership on the Local Emergency Planning Commission, Solutions (mental health organization), Clinton County Republican Central Committee, Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, Clinton County Board of Realtors, and the Ohio Board of Realtors. Prickett is a graduate of Leadership Clinton 1993 through the Clinton County Leadership Institute.

“Southern State Community College is a vital community partner in serving traditional college student as well as the non-traditional adult learner,” Prickett said. “As a Southern State Community College graduate, I received the educational foundation to assist me in my career field, as well as the tools needed to continue my education at a four-year institution. I am honored to be appointed to the Southern State Community College Board of Trustees.
