The Lynchburg Masonic Lodge #178 is proud to announce that the winner of the Carl Walton Memorial Scholarship for 2015 is Jordan Wilt.

Jordan is the son of Ginger Wilt and Jeff Wilt. He is a 2015 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School.

During the past four years, Jordan has participated in marching band, played basketball and baseball, was active in vocational agriculture, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

While maintaining a perfect attendance record throughout high school, Jordan has also served as the public announcer for numerous sporting and other events at the high school. At the recent Lynchburg-Clay High School Scholastic Awards banquet, Jordan was awarded the prestigious Scholastic Hall of Fame Award.

In 2004, Carl Walton, a member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge #178, envisioned the Lodge creating a foundation fund for the purpose of collecting charitable contributions to help young graduates of the Lynchburg school system to reach their educational dreams, and to contribute to other community needs such as the Highland County Special Olympics.

Through Carl’s efforts and financial support, the Lynchburg Masonic Foundation Fund was created. Since then, through charitable donations, and proceeds from events and motorcycle rides, the foundation has been able to give away $3,500 in scholarships to deserving students.

For those interested in making a tax-deductible contribution to the Lynchburg Masonic Foundation Fund, contact Jeff Rowley, Secretary/Treasurer at 937-403-4279.
