Lead Summary

-

The seventh-grade students at Hillsboro Middle School collected donations between Thanksgiving and winter break to donate to the Samaritan Outreach Center in Hillsboro. The students last year collected $930 for the Homeless Shelter and this year's group wanted to beat that record. Many students wanted to bring in canned goods, so the total this year was a combination of money and canned goods. We are proud to announce that the totals collected were 15 boxes of canned goods for a total of 608 cans and $668. The students did a great job motivating each other to help the center. Students in the picture include: front row, Christopher Karnes, Deion Warren, Devon Bullock, Robbie Miller, Cheyenne Bennett and Becky Eicher; back row Ms. Knippen and Mr. Callahan.
