Hillsboro students honored during Military Student Recognition Ceremony

Hillsboro High School hosted its annual Military Student Recognition Ceremony Thursday, March 25 in the high school’s new auditorium.

This is the school’s third year hosting this ceremony, recognizing HHS students entering the military upon graduation.

Students honored this year included:

• Justin Conn (Navy);

• Scottie Eastes (Air Force);

• Zach Fite (Marines);

• Derek Fraley (Navy);

• Motoki Remington (Marines); and

• Owen Ryan (Navy).

United States Army Reservist Lt. Alex Butler, an HHS alumnus, was the guest speaker.

The school also celebrated an early graduation ceremony for Zach Fite, since he will be shipping out early for basic training. Fite had the honor of being the first graduate on the new auditorium stage and debuted the new cap and gown for Hillsboro seniors.
