Hillsboro Middle School Washington DC Trip

One hundred and ten Hillsboro Middle School 8th graders traveled to Washington DC on April 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. They took many memorable tours including the Naval Museum, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Whitehouse, Smithsonian, Holocaust Museums, Arlington National Cemetery, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials, Washington National Cathedral, US Capital, Lincoln Memorial, and the Marine Memorial. On the way home they toured through Gettysburg and saw many of the battlefields. The highlight of the trip was watching the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown
Solider. Four students were selected from an essay contest to present the wreath at the wreath ceremony. The student would like to thanks Mr. Randy Phipps for being their trip coordinator and Mr. Burrows, Mr. Jacky, Ms. Bennett, Mrs. Rhoads, Mrs. Branscome and Mrs. Boatman for being our chaperons.
