The beef barn was a busy place during the week of September at the Highland County Fair as exhibitors brought their cattle to the fairgrounds on arrival day to prepare their week at the fair. They began the week they have been working so hard on for the past year. For many exhibitors, preparing for the fair takes months of dedication, patience, and hard work.
Many exhibitors' hard work was shown throughout the week. One exhibitor who had a successful week was Brayden Cummings. Brayden exhibited a prospect steer in both the open and junior show. In the open show, Brayden’s prospect steer was 3rd Overall prospect steer, while in the junior show, the steer was 4th Overall prospect steer.
Connor Yochum also had a successful week at the Highland County Fair. Connor earned Reserve Champion County Born and Bred Steer, placed 2nd in Showmanship, and exhibited the Champion Chi-Angus.
Brianna Foxx had several accomplishments in the beef shows as well. Brianna exhibited the Champion Chianina Heifer, which also placed 4th Overall Heifer.
In showmanship, Brianna was named Champion 15-Year-Old Showman and went on to receive Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman.
Brayden Burked also had a successful week in the beef barn. In the open show, Brayden exhibited the Reserve Champion Shorthorn. He continued his success in the junior show, where he exhibited the Grand Champion Shorthorn. Congratulations to all who exhibited at the Highland County Fair.
