Hillsboro FFA members display special interest projects

Many members of the Hillsboro FFA displayed special interest projects during the Highland County Fair this year.

These projects ranged from woodworking to growing many different types of vegetables and crops. Members submit their items to be judged and also receive money for the quality of their projects.

Members that received placings for their woodworking projects include JJ Goldick, Ethan Adkins, Ashley Chaney, and Whitney Seitz. JJ received first for the cabinet, lawn chair, night stand, and Ohio mounting board. He also received third place for a shelf. Ethan received first on a shelf he made and second for a dovetail box. Ashley received second place on her nail box that she made in class. Whitney Seitz placed first for a cutting board and also received second overall for it.

Many members submitted vegetables to be judged also. The members who received placings included Jireh Vance, Meredith Oglesby, Madison Snyder, Ethan Adkins, and Emily Early. Jireh received first for his watermelon displayed and many different second placings for his shelled beans, cayenne peppers, and habanero peppers. He also received third place for a pumpkin and other peppers. Meredith Oglesby received second place for her mixed hay and two third place placings for sweet potatoes and ornamental pumpkins. Madison Snyder got second place for her broccoli she exhibited. Ethan Adkins placed second in the category of vegetable baskets. Second place was awarded to member Emily Early for the alfalfa she displayed.

The Hillsboro FFA congratulates all of the winners of the special interest projects.
