In March, the members were paired together to work on a public policy. This group decided to pick the issue food waste, and they want to implement a compost pile in Highland County with the policy.
With the presentation and a lot of hard work, the group placed in the top three when presenting and move on to finals, which will take place on July 30 at the State Fair. The winning team will receive scholarship money.
The team will soon be implementing the compost pile for members of the community to use.
