Hillsboro FFA members compete in food science CDE

On Nov. 16, 12 members of the Hillsboro FFA Chapter traveled to Felicity-Franklin High School to compete in the Food Science Career Development Event.

The purpose of this CDE is to simulate learning activities in food science and technology related to the food industry. Through this CDE, members have the opportunity to demonstrate skills related to food science by participating in a wide range of activities such as the triangle taste test, flavor and aroma identification, equipment analysis, good manufacturing practices and problem identification.
The team did well at the district contest. Members that competed include Zane Adams, Mackenzie Adams, Regan Claycomb, Grant Crum, Breanne Fender, Lexie Fritz, Lexey Hetzel, Kristen Jamieson, Attie Johnson, Christian McConehea, Larkyn Parry and Brennen Priest.
