Hillsboro FFA member completes gardening SAE project

Each year, in addition to classroom learning and participation in FFA activities, FFA members complete a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) project as one of the three components of agriculture education.
With their SAE projects, students are able to learn through hands-on experiences in the field of agriculture. Members are able to complete a variety of SAE projects, including ownership/entrepreneurship of an agricultural business, job placement in an agricultural-based business, research through experimentation or exploration of a career in agriculture.

During the summer months, Hillsboro FFA members are visited by a chapter adviser to assess progress and completion of their SAE project.
Sophomore member Gabe Adkins completed a gardening project this year. Gabe works to prepare, maintain and gather produce as it is ready. This year, his garden includes tomatoes, green beans and cucumbers.
