Hillsboro FFA hosts Greenhand Night

The Hillsboro FFA had their annual Greenhand Night on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The night got started with a hog roast and carry-in dinner.
The new members got the chance to mingle with the older members and get a real taste of what it’s like to be a member of the Hillsboro FFA. Their families enjoyed seeing their students walk across the stage receiving their Greenhand awards.
There was also a raffle on baskets that the parents got the chance to win throughout the night.
A recyclable shopping bag was made by the Ag Business class and will be a fundraiser for our Adopt a Family project this Christmas. You can purchase this bag now from any FFA member, all proceeds go to the FFA fundraiser.
They also had a guest speaker, last year’s District 9 president Jake Wuebben.
• In addition, The Rick Williams Auction Company helps the Hillsboro FFA each year to put on their alumni auction.
Without their help and dedication of Rick’s hard-working staff, the auction would not be as successful as it is. The Hillsboro FFA would like to thank them for presenting us with a check for a little over $14,000 for the Hillsboro FFA scholarship fund.
