Hillsboro FFA, Greenhouse Management class announce plant sale
Spring is here, and it’s that time of year again to purchase flowers and vegetables. Community members can help support the local Hillsboro FFA chapter and the Greenhouse Management class.
The FFA chapter’s fundraising projects, like flower sales, help pay for leadership conferences, FFA camp and CDE (Career Development Event) contest fees. The Greenhouse sales also help maintain the greenhouse to keep it functioning from year to year.

The FFA chapter has a wide variety of plants for sale in planters, hanging baskets and flats. This plant sale is put on by FFA’s Greenhouse Management class. The class started planting in the middle of January and has been maintaining the plants ever since. Students have learned how to keep inventory, fertilize plants, learned the requirements for plants to thrive and how to keep the greenhouse organized.
You will be able to purchase flowers Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., or you can also schedule a pick-up time by contacting the Ag Department at (937) 393-3485 (extension 1580). The pick-up location is in the back of the school by the greenhouse.
Plant sales will continue through May 14, so come get them while they are still in stock.
