Hillsboro FFA ‘extremely proud’ of members elected as State Officers

Lead Summary
By
Emily Earley-
Two candidates from the Hillsboro FFA Chapter, Lauren Grover and Meredith Oglesby, both ran for a position on the Ohio FFA State Officer team this spring.

In order to run for a state office, there is a process you must first go through. The process to become an officer for the Ohio FFA  Association is lengthy but extremely rewarding.

You begin the process when you enroll in your first Agriculture Education class. The experience you have gained through classroom instruction, your supervised agricultural experience program and FFA have all helped develop the necessary skills to serve as a leader in the FFA.

The interview process is a day-long event, which consists of many interviews. Once you complete the process, the candidates wait a month until State Convention to receive the results.

The Hillsboro FFA is proud to say that both candidates received a state officer position, which is a huge achievement, as only 11 members make up the State FFA Officer Team. Grover will be serving as the 2016-2017 State FFA Reporter, and Oglesby will be serving as the 2016-2017 State FFA Vice President.

This year, as Ohio FFA officers, Grover and Oglesby will be doing countless chapter visits and attending multiple banquets while serving the Ohio FFA Association. The Hillsboro FFA chapter is extremely proud of them.
