While some people think fair break is a time to relax, the Hillsboro FFA members will be working hard at the Highland County Fair.

Along with all of the livestock, crops and garden projects that members will have at the fair, they will also manage the Hillsboro FFA food booth. The food booth is a long-standing tradition for the Hillsboro FFA. Members have served food at the fair for many generations.

The Hillsboro FFA food booth is located behind the show arena. It’s open Saturday, Sept. 2 through Sept. 9, beginning at 8 a.m. each day. Some of the delicious food the Hillsboro FFA sells includes pork tenderloin sandwiches, BBQ pulled pork, hot dogs, sweet tea and lemonade. This is also the second year for new peanut butter milkshakes, along with the traditional chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavors.

Members, alumni and parents all volunteer their time to work in the booth. Profits from the food booth are one way the chapter is able to fund many of the trips students have the opportunity to attend throughout the year.
