Hillsboro FFA chapter had seven members show, sell rabbits

This year at the Highland County Fair, the Hillsboro FFA chapter had seven members show, and/or sell rabbits. These rabbits have been taken care of by these students to prepare them for showmanship or sale.

The rabbit sale was on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Highland County Fair rabbit barn. The Hillsboro members participated in contests competing for first place.

Brittany Howard's Holland Lops placed first and third best of breed, best opposite in open class; second in showmanship; first with Lops, two best of breeds; and first in Sr. division in breed Id.

Hannah Oyer placed third in showmanship, and third and fifth with meat pens, which sold for $275.

Katie Condo's market rabbit placed third, and sold for $425.

Christian McConehea's breeding rabbits got first in class, and 4th in showmanship. The market rabbit sold for $300.

Ashley Chaney's market rabbits were second and fourth in their weight classes. The second-place rabbit sold for $300.

Taylor Chaney's market rabbit placed fifth and sold for $275.
