During the week of Oct. 19-22, the Hillsboro FFA chapter attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., as 49 members and six chaperones made the trip.

During the trip, members were able to attend sessions where keynote speakers gave their message, and the national officers gave their retiring addresses.

Sydney Snider, the National Eastern Region Vice President from Ohio, gave her retiring address on “See Hope, Be Hope.” She talked about how our generation gives our future hope. On the trip, members attended different tours such as a Ghyslain Chocolates tour where they were able to make and decorate their own chocolate and learn about the process of how chocolate becomes what it is.

Then, the members were able to go to the Kelsay Dairy tour where they learned about dairy cattle and its industry.

On the first night at convention, members attended the Cole Swindell and Chris Young concert that was held only for FFA members.

The theme of this year's 89th National FFA Convention was Transform, and members were given advice on how they can transform their goals, their lives, and our world.
