HHS seniors open time capsule

As the Hillsboro High School class of 2015 prepares for their graduation ceremony in less than two weeks, they took time to remember a less stressful time in their lives on Wednesday.
HHS seniors, along with staff members including superintendent Jim Smith, principal Jason Snively and senior class adviser Bruce Robson, opened a time capsule at Hillsboro Elementary Wednesday afternoon.

When the seniors were in second grade, they each filled a plastic resealable bag with mementos to open as high school seniors, according to Snively. The time capsule was buried 10 years ago, in May 2005.
Students, along with some parents and staff members, crowded around the time capsule to find their own items packed a decade ago.
Among the many mementos unearthed were photos, letters, jewelry and keychains.
The Hillsboro High School seniors will graduate on May 24 at 3:30 p.m.
