Head Start celebrates FRED Week with visit from Clifford
During the week of March 17-21, Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc., Hillsboro Head Start celebrated FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day) Week.
During this week, Head Start encourages fathers to come into their child’s classroom and read. To end the week, Head Start invites dads, grandpas or anyone who has an influence in the life of the child to come and have lunch with their child, a program otherwise known as Dine with Dads.

This year during FRED week, Head Start had a special visitor in Clifford the Big Red Dog. Larry Scruggs made Clifford possible for us this year. For the last five years, Scruggs has made sure during FRED week that the Head Start program has had a special visitor come to their classrooms and read a book to the children. Head Start would like to give a special thanks to Scruggs for donating his time for the last five years during this special occasion to put a smile on every child’s face.
