Harlem Legends battle Greenfield All Stars for a good cause

The Harlem Legends rolled into Greenfield Wednesday for a morning school program which was both entertaining and educational for the elementary
students.
After hanging out with students and the staff all morning, they then headed over to Buckskin Elementary to meet the students and staff there and to speak with the announcer for the game Saturday, Mr. Shumate.
On Thursday, Michael Douglas woke up early to interview with Mr. Shumate on WVNU. On Friday, Michael Douglas and Larry "Shorty" Coleman went to the YMCA "Kids World of Learning" and met the children there, then over to Sugarcreek to take a tour of the factory and meet some of the employees. On Saturday, game day, the team went to Big City Pizza where they had a wonderful lunch, then held a basketball clinic at the school where approximately 22 students participated, after that the Dairy Nook provided them with a delicious dinner. The game then started at 7 p.m. with Chelsea Bobb singing our National Anthem.
It was an eventful evening with the Harlem Legends and the Greenfield All Stars team. The game was full of laughter and excitement. The All Stars, coached by Dave and Jeff Payton, gave them a run for their money throughout the entire game. The All Stars players included: John Turner, David Mischal, Bobbie Groves Hurtt, Doug Mustard, Donnie Yates, Kile Cameron, Kelley Anderson Havens, Dean O'Connor, Dale Bowers, Troy Seely, Blain Bergstrom, Nick Smith, Craig Unger, Bill Cullom, and Sarah Hull.
The All Stars fell a bit short, losing to the professional basketball team only by three points with a final score of 112-109.
After the game, the Harlem Legends signed autographs, took pictures, then went to Who's Place for a meet and greet. Mark Stewart videotaped the game for and copies will be available soon for purchase.
