Lead Summary

Erin Clark-
The 89th Ohio FFA State Convention has drawn to a conclusion. As we take a look at the convention in review, we are proud to honor those students who have transformed the future of agriculture and have earned exemplary awards.

Throughout this past year, former Hillsboro FFA member Lauren Grover worked extra hard in applying for the Star Farmer Award as well as the proficiency award for her Supervised Agricultural Experience in Diversified Livestock Production.

The Star Farmer Award is given to a recipient with the top production agriculture SAE program. Grover placed in the top four of the state for this award.

Grover was on the 2017 top 4 in the state in the area of Diversified Livestock Production. This award involves the use of the best management practices available to efficiently produce and market a combination of two or more livestock related proficiency award areas. These areas include beef, dairy, sheep, swine, equine, goat, specialty animal, small animal production and care of poultry.

Thank you to Ohio Corn & Wheat for making this award possible. Both the Ohio FFA Foundation and the students involved appreciate your support.
