With all of the news in the media revolving around childhood obesity and healthy school meals, Greenfield School District is trying to make a difference in the lives of its students. The elementary schools offer fresh fruits and vegetables on their menus. Low fat ingredients, whole grains, and fresh fruits and vegetables are used to create many items. Middle school and high school students have many healthy options to choose from on a daily basis. Thursdays are special days in the MS/HS cafeteria. The students as well as the staff flock in for "Burrito Day." The cooks make each burrito according to the customers' choices. We wanted to try something new and unique for the students. The cooks love to "create" new menu items. Greenfield Schools are also celebrating with Mary Kinzer, her retirement after 29 years of service with the cafeteria department. Mary spent 25 years cooking for the students at Buckskin School. Her past four years have been in the Greenfield Cafeteria. We wish her the best in her retirement.[[In-content Ad]]
