Great Oaks Board elects Ron Friend as chair

Ron Friend of Leesburg, who also serves on the Fairfield Local Schools (Highland County) Board of Education, was elected in January to a second term as chair of the 35-member Board of Directors of Great Oaks Career Campuses.

On the Great Oaks Board, Friend has chaired three of the five board committees and served on the Treasurer and Superintendent search committees. He has been a member of the Fairfield Board of Education since 1992.

 

[[In-content Ad]]Friend began his community service early as Ohio's Future Farmers of America President in 1968. In 2015, he was named an Outstanding School Board member by the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education. 

Friend was also honored by the Great Oaks Board of Directors for completing his fourth term as a board member.
