Four Bright Elementary teachers were honored at the September Bright Local Schools Board meeting for outstanding test scores on the 2015-16 AIR tests.
Jackie Broughton and Jennifer Frasier were honored for having the highest AIR test results in the ESC region in both math and English language arts.
The ESC is comprised of 12 school districts and includes all Highland County schools, with the exception of Hillsboro City Schools.
In English language arts, the third grade scored 80.6 percent, with a State Indicator of 68 percent. The Bright Local third-graders scored 86.1 percent in math, with a State Indicator of 73 percent.
Sharon Bick and Heather Roberts, fourth-grade teachers, were also honored for outstanding test scores. Fourth-graders at Bright Elementary were tied for third in the ESC with 80 percent passing the AIR test, and a State Indicator of 72 percent. This same group of students was also third in the ESC in social studies with a passage rate of 91.1 percent, which surpassed the State Indicator of 75 percent.
