Financial aid workshop at SSCC on Jan. 15

A financial aid awareness workshop will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, on Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The workshop will be held in Room 107 (lecture hall) and a session will be held immediately afterwards in Room 105 (computer lab) for those who are ready to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
This event is free and primarily for high school seniors and their families or first-time college students; however, everyone is welcome to attend.
Those who would like to try and complete the financial aid application should bring the following:
· 2010 income tax return or estimated 2010 income for the student and parents;
· Yearly income totals from any untaxed income for the student and parents;
· Family social security numbers;
· Student’s drivers license number;
· Knowledge of any funds set aside as a saving or asset that is not earmarked for a retirement or life insurance.
