Fairfield student named National Merit Finalist

Jessica Francis, a senior at Fairfield Local High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist.

Francis is the first finalist in Fairfield's school history.

Francis was invited to the March board meeting to be presented with her Finalist certificate. A copy was made to hang in Fairfield's Academic Hall of Fame.

Of the 1.5 million students who took the PSAT, only 8,000 students were named a National Merit Finalist.

Francis plans to attend college to major in biomedical engineering.
