Fairfield Middle School Science Fair winners

Winners of the Fairfield Middle School Science Fair have been announced.

These seven team projects scored "superior" and will compete in the district science fair on March 15.

Fairfield Science Fair announces winners
Fairfield Middle School's eighth grade students displayed their science projects at a school fair Feb. 26. A group of adult and high school-student judges listened to the two-student teams explain their projects.
The following winners were awarded: first place, John Grimm and Garrett Sparger; second, "Air 'Pressure' Jordan," Dylan Zimmerman and Tucker Ayres; third: "Flower Power," Megan Stanton and Jordan Wright.
Besides the three highest placings, the following also scored high enough to qualify for the district fair, to be held March 15 at Wilmington College: Matthew Mangus and Chloe Barber; Blake Adams and Chelsea Hester; Nick Tate and Tyler Barton; and Nathan Stone and Michael Mason.
In addition, the following special honors were awarded: Teamwork, Kodi Haynes, Andrea Spears, Maggie Donahue; Creative Experiment - Quinton Beatty and Andrew Davis; Best Presentation - Ashley Sowards and Sarah Young; Engineering - Shay Turner and Riley. Life Science - Ciara Knisley and Aubrey Drabik; Use of Scientific Method - Cody Gragg and Nick Price; Environmental - Grace Shope and Hannah Willey; Human Behavior - Kelsey Rhoads; Psychology - Stella Burgess Health and Body - Macinzey Harvey and Megan Sanderson; Material Science - Candace James; Teamwork and Effort - Shaytlyn Murray and Jada Eads; Best Energy Project - Cory Hawkins and Emily Everhart.
