Fairfield FFA raises $400 during Autism Awareness Day

On April 6, the Fairfield FFA hosted Autism Awareness Day.
The whole school had the opportunity to pay $1 to buy an autism puzzle piece ribbon or to wear a hat. Everyone was encouraged to wear blue and be involved in Light It Up Blue For Autism Awareness. Overall, the school raised $400 for the organization Autism Speaks.

The FFA officers and executive committee talked to students about what autism is and how it affects people. Autism receives less than 5 percent of the research of many less prevalent childhood diseases. This is why we must teach the world about autism and help support the research.
The Fairfield FFA looks forward to holding this event again next April.
