The Fairfield FFA sent three of their finest members to the Ohio Valley Career Center to compete in the District 9 ag mechanical skills competition on March 21.
The students – Drew Credit, Dale Back and Austin Thompson – had to do multiple ag skills such as welding, cutting and tool identification.
The students felt that they had performed to their best and had a nice chance of moving on to state. The next morning the members of the team were pulled into the office and the principal, Mr. Hackett stood up and said, "Congratulations, you have qualified for the state ag mechanics competition on the 31st of March."
The members were very delighted to know they were the first Fairfield FFA team to move on to state this year. All the members of the team look forward to the state competition and enjoying the day out of school doing what they love.
