Fairfield FFA excels at Highland County Fair
By Avery Morrow
Fairfield Local Schools FFA
Each year, the Highland County Fair is held the first week of September; however, this year Labor Day fell late, so the annual county fair was held the second week of September. Fairfield FFA members spent many hours in the barn working with their projects preparing for the fair.
Being an outstanding showman means having simple knowledge about your animal, taking care of your project, making sure your animal is healthy, and practicing with your animal so when fair time rolls around, you can show off your hard work.
We are all very proud of all of our members. Their hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. Exhibitors, you made Fairfield Local very proud. Thank you for all of the hours spent in the barn, late nights and early mornings. We appreciate you.
Special shout-out to our secretary, Miley Caldwell. Miley won Champion York Gilt, Champion Overall Gilt, 3rd Overall Intermediate Showman, and lastly Age 15 OME Winner. Congratulations, Miley.
Eloise Roehm placed Reserve Champion Full Blood Doe and Overall Breeding Goat Showman. Great job, Eloise.
Avery Morrow placed 4th in Showmanship and 4th in the Market Hog Show.
Our Vice President, Kaylee Hurless-Miller, was your 2026 Highland Country Fair Queen. Thank you for representing Fairfield FFA. Great job, Kaylee.
Many Fairfield FFA members had success this year, and we are so proud of all of them.
We had many members helping at our food booth. Thank you to all students, alumni members, and any family members that participated in making this a successful year. Your support is very appreciated.
Once again, thank you everyone for your hard work, dedication and support. You are greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to next year.
