Two Fairfield FFA members traveled to competition on May 1. The competition that they attended was Meat Evaluation.
The students had practiced for two weeks and had taken trips to Hunter Meats, whose employees donated some of their time for the students to practice. The students learned the cuts of meat from various animals also how to grade them just like a meat inspector would do on a daily basis.

This CDE, Career Development Event, helps kids to get a feel for the meat processing and packing industry.
Due to the number of members on the team (two of four), they placed second-to-last but they enjoyed the competition and look forward to it next year.
