Fairfield FFA chapter members successful at the Highland County Fair

Every year, the Highland County Fair takes place the first week of September. The Fairfield FFA members spent countless hours working with their animals to prepare for the Highland County Fair.
Being a good showman means having general knowledge about your animal, taking proper care of it, making sure your animal is healthy and practicing with your animal so that come fair time you can show off all your hard work. We want to show off our FFA members who put in that hard work.
Avery Teeters was awarded the 2022 Highland County Beef Queen and placed third in her class at the cattle open show.
FFA member Maddie Caldwell showed market hogs at the fair and placed first in three classes, then went on to show in division six and was awarded reserve in her division. She also competed in livestock judging and placed ninth overall individual and fifth overall team.
Sydney Sanders was awarded Outstanding Beef Breeding Exhibitor and Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer.
Evelyn Roehm was awarded Champion pair of breeding birds and Champion registered Ewe and Flock, OBE Sheep and outstanding record books for sheep and chickens.
Mia Roehm won OME for Age Division, Skillathon Age Division and Record Books for Age Division, third and fourth with market lambs, had Champion Hampshire Ewe, Champion Hampshire Ram, Reserve Champion Ewe Lamb Overall, Reserve Champion Hampshire Ewe, Champion and Reserve Dorset Ewe, fifth in poultry showmanship and fifth in the Egg Production Pullet Class.
Wyatt Morrow was a Rabbit Ambassador, and in open class he had eight first-place rabbits, two second-place rabbits, and two third-place rabbits. In the Rabbit Breeding Show, he had two second-place and one third-, fourth- and fifth-place award. Morrow received 17-year-old rabbit showman and reserve senior showman. He also received an outstanding record book for his age group.
Emma Fraysier had market rabbits at the fair and won second in her division and first in her class. She also placed first in the tractor rodeo senior division.
McKinley Cox showed market rabbits and got ninth in showmanship and placed sixth and ninth in the market rabbit show. She also got ninth place in sheep showmanship. She took vegetables and farm shop projects to the fair and received second and third place for her vegetables and farm shop stool.
Emily Taylor showed market rabbits at the fair and received first in her class for showmanship and third in her age division. She placed second and third with her rabbits in the market rabbit show.
Emma Sowders also showed market borrows at the fair and earned third place in showmanship.
Lathan Cockerill showed a feeder steer at the fair and placed third in the junior beef show.
