An exciting fall at Greenfield library

GREENFIELD – Labor Day has already come and gone, so I guess summer is officially gone! How it raced by so quickly is certainly a mystery. Lots of exciting things are happening at your library – programs for entertainment and education, contests, new books, magazines, DVDs, and much more. Enjoy this fall at the library!
Check out these upcoming events:
• SEPT. 10, 17, 24, & OCT. 1, COMPUTER CLASSES. There will be two time periods to choose from each day, 1:30-4 p.m., or 5:30 – 8 p.m. The class has four parts: beginner 1 & 2 and Internet 1 & 2. There is a limit of four to a class, so please pre-register for this free class.
• SEPT. 15, VISIT AFRICA WITH RICK SCHLUEP. Rick will have pictures and information about Kenya and Ethiopia. Everyone is invited to share an exciting trip.
• SEPT. 16 – 5 p.m., THE BOOKWORMS (adult book discussion group). The book for September will be “These is my Words” by Nancy Turner. Stop by, pick up a book and join us. Everyone is welcome.
• SEPT. 17, “Where the Wild Things Are” Contest prize drawing.
• SEPT. 17, 10:30 a.m. - SENIOR CITIZENS’ MORNING- Stories, Craft, Games, and Refreshments. A fun morning at the library.
• SEPT. 21 and 30, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Dawna Jo Kiesling from the Highland County Extension Office will join us with lots of ideas and take-homes for eating healthier and stretching those food dollars.
• SEPT. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP. This will be held in our Community Room and presented by Highland County Community Action. Call 393-3458 to pre-register. There will be a second workshop on Oct. 7, 2-5 p.m.
• SEPT. 22, 6 p.m., KIDS KRAFT KLUB. Children ages 6-10 invited. Theme this month is Comets. Please sign up for this program.
• SEPT. 28, 8:30 a.m.-noon, HIGHLAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING. The commissioners will be moving their regular meeting to Greenfield on this day. Stop in with any questions or suggestions.
• SEPT. 28, 6:30 p.m., GENEALOGY CLUB. The speakers this month will be Jean and Lester Wallis. They will present a program on identifying old photographs. Everyone is invited.
• OCT. 1, 11 a.m.-noon. STROKE SUPPORT GROUP. This group is for stroke survivors, caregivers, or families of stroke victims. It will be the first Thursday of each month and is presented by the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
• OCT. 6, 5-8 p.m., CPR CLASS. This class will be taught by Debbie Hensley. There is a limit of 8 people over 8 years of age, so please call or stop in and sign up. You will also need to pick up and study a booklet before class.
• OCT. 12, Library will be CLOSED for Columbus Day.
• OCT. 13, 1-2 p.m., BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING. Greenfield Rehab will be doing these.
We have some great weekly Storytimes: Tuesday, 11 a.m., 2’s and 3’s and caregiver; Thursday, 6 p.m., 4’s-6’s. They include stories and a craft or activity.
