East Clinton remembers 9/11 victims in morning ceremony
East Clinton high school and middle school students took time to honor those lost on Sept. 11, 2001 on Friday morning.
The annual remembrance focused on the story of United Airlines Flight 93, in which Todd Beamer and other courageous individuals attempted to take the plane back from the hijackers, ultimately saving many lives.
"Let's Roll" was the last phrase heard from Todd Beamer as he and the other passengers went to action becoming the first to fight back against the terrorists.
The student body's plane formation and "LET'S ROLL" was used to serve as a reminder for the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that tragic day in America's history.

As many of the students today were not even born on Sept. 11, East Clinton believes this remembrance is an important reminder of just how terrible that day was.
“We played about a six-minute video for the students prior to going to the field,” East Clinton High School principal Matt Baker told The Highland County Press. “A lot of these kids weren’t even born yet, or this happened within a year or two of them being born.
“We tried to familiarize them with the story of Todd Beamer and the sacrifices made on that day. It went great.”
Andrew Bond and the Bond family provided the operation and use of a drone to photograph the student body.
