East Clinton High School’s opening night of “Rock of Ages” was held Friday night at the Murphy Theatre.

Tickets are still available for the show on Saturday, March 4. The curtain is 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online on the East Clinton HS webpage and at the door. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.

The show is directed by Kristi Grover.

“Rock of Ages,” a musical, will have audiences journey back to the big rock, big band, big personalities of the ’80s. The show features a wannabe rocker in his pursuit of rock and roll greatness while meeting that girl.

Meanwhile, the legendary Dupree’s Bourbon Room, a place where rock bands get their start and fans get the true rock experience, faces a developer set on tearing up the Sunset Strip. Protestors cry out “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” but it might not be until “The Final Countdown” before we get to see if the Bourbon Room gets saved, the young lovers say “The Search is Over” or the wannabe gets his wish: “I Wanna Rock.”

Come sing along with those hits from yesterday and watch East Clinton’s kids rock out in Rock of Ages 101 High School Edition.
