The East Clinton Competitive Cheer Team attended the Universal Cheer Association’s Miami Valley Regional this past weekend.

The team placed fifth out of eight teams in the region and was awarded a bid to the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida in February.

“This is great start to our competition season,” stated Coach Heather Miller. “A bid to the most prestigious high school cheerleading competition in the nation is an amazing accomplishment.

"The team has worked hard all summer and fall for this moment. Now we can focus on nationals.”

The ECHS competition cheer team came in fifth place behind Springboro High School, Eaton High School, Kettering-Fairmont High School, and Beavercreek High School.

The team will be competing an additional 12 times this season, including a third attempt to qualify for the OASSA State Championships which are held in March in Columbus.
