Cheyney Myers, Brenna Simmons earn Star Cinemas scholarships

Star Cinemas employees Cheyney Myers and Brenna Simmons recently received notification of being the recipients of $1,000 scholarships.

These individuals were chosen from student/employees of the National Association of Theaters Owners employees covering five states.

"This is a very coveted award only given to five student/employees," said Phil Roberts of Star Cinemas. "Our employees have received these scholarships for the past two years."

• Cheyney Myers, who has been employed by the theater for more than one year, will be attending the University of Dayton. She is an outstanding academic student and track and soccer athlete at Hillsboro High School.

Cheyney is daughter of Sarah and Jason Myers of Hillsboro,

• Brenna Simmons, who has been with Star Cinemas for more than two years, is a sophomore currently attending Ohio State University.

Brenna is a second generation employee, following in the footsteps of her mother, who was one of the original staff members when the theater opened. Brenna is a graduate of Fairfield High School and graduated with high academic honors. She is planning on majoring in Nursing at OSU.

Brenna is the daughter of Jaime and Clansey Simmons.
