By SHARON AUKEMAN-
We, at the Leesburg Library, hope everyone had a blessed holiday season and we wish you all a prosperous New Year!
We appreciate your continued support and patronage and look forward to serving you in 2010. Please feel free to join us for some of the upcoming programs we have planned for January.
Our Knit Together group now meets every Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. Please feel free to join the group regardless of your knitting expertise. New members are always welcome.
Awesome Book Club for 5th and 6th graders meets from 4-5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11. This month’s book is “Cicada Summer” by Andrea Beaty. Mrs. Reno will be leading the discussion and after school snacks will be served. We hope to see new and familiar faces at the first meeting of the New Year. Story times resume for Wee Ones (6-36 months) at 10 a.m. and Tate Tots (3-5 yr) at 10:30 a.m. Topics this month include Rock out with Rocks, Quit Clowning Around, and Let’s Go Camping.
SPARX (our teen reading group) meets at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the books they have been reading the past couple months:  “London Calling” by Edward Bloor, “Eternal” by Cynthia Smith, “The Schwa Was Here” by Neal Shusterman and “The Key to Rondo” by Emily Rodda. The group would like to welcome any new members. Stop by the front desk or call us for more details.
We will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Please use the outdoor book drop to return materials. Our adult book group, RRR will meet on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Book choices this month are “Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen and “Heart and Soul” by Maeve Binchy. Copies of the titles are available for check out at the front desk. Come in out of the cold this January and visit us at the library. I’ll close this month’s edition of Check it Out with a New Year’s wish for you: May all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s resolutions![[In-content Ad]]
