Call, Sidwell inducted into SHCTC Wall of Fame

Former Southern Hills Career Technical Center students Hailei Call and Chris Sidwell were inducted into the school’s Wall of Fame at the annual school-wide advisory dinner on April 16.
Sidwell is a 1988 completer of the Southern Hills Energy Systems program and a graduate of Western Brown High School. In his two-year program at Southern Hills, Sidwell learned HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing and sheet metal fabrication, key building blocks for his success in business.
After serving two years in the United States Navy, Sidwell returned to the Mt. Orab area and applied his military training with the knowledge he gained at Southern Hills to work with HVAC/R advanced control systems. In this line of work, Sidwell has traveled all over the world, including China, Germany, Mexico, Canada and many countries in South America. His work has also sent him to all 50 states. He earned his Project Management Professional Certification and is currently employed with Phillips Lighting as an Energy Project Manager.

Hailei Call is a 2007 completer of the Southern Hills CTC Cosmetology program and is a graduate of Fayetteville High School. After high school she attended the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Production. Call says that her two years in the cosmetology program put her way ahead of her classmates in her college focus in wig and makeup design studies.
Call has a successful and demanding career, traveling across the U.S. as well as foreign countries with Broadway productions. She has toured the U.S. with “Phantom of the Opera” as head of the wig department. Other accomplishments include an 18-month stint with the national tour of “Mary Poppins” as supervisor of the wig and makeup team; five shows at the Carnegie Performing Arts Center in Covington, Ky. as hair and makeup designer; three seasons with the Utah Shakespearean Festival as assistant to the wig master and cosmetologist; and two full operas at the CCM-Spoleto Festival in Italy.
