Buckskin students raise record amount for American Heart Association

The third and fourth grade physical education classes at Buckskin Elementary set a new school record in raising funds for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart. A total of $3,078.03 was collected by the students to support the fight against heart disease and stroke, America's number-one killer.

The students learn jump rope skills, heart health, and how nutrition and physical activity can help them live longer, healthier lives.

Elizabeth Kegley was the top fund raiser with $150, with Sydney Bowles following close behind with $146. The students will receive thank-you gifts for their participation, and the school will receive a gift certificate to purchase physical education equipment.
