On Friday, October 2, 2009, Buckskin Elementary participated in Lee National Denim Day.  By wearing jeans on this day and donating $5, we were helping fund important breast cancer research and treatment programs.  We helped raise over $1,000!!!
More importantly, we were honoring our beloved Karen Ross, a Buckskin teacher for 32 years, who recently passed on August 25, 2009.  We were honored to have her family with us on this day.  We celebrated her life by wearing t-shirts honoring her.  It was a great day to bring friends, families and co-workers together to take a stand for this important cause - one she should have been a part of!  We were hoping to send a powerful message to those who have been touched by this disease.
Together we can raise awareness and support of breast cancer research. Thanks to all who participated in this cause!!
