On Thursday, Nov. 17, 46 sixth-graders and 47 fifth-graders participated in the Science Fair at Bright Elementary School.
The event was evaluated by eight outside judges. Students’ projects were judged based on Research, Design, Execution, Creativity, and Presentation.
There were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places awarded in each homeroom. Then, for the Overall Award for each grade level, the top two students from each homeroom came down to present a second time to all of the judges.
Mrs. Pollard and Miss Carr have had all the students working really hard for the past two months and all of their hard worked showed.
Science Fair Winners
First from 5th grade – Mrs. Murphy’s Homeroom:
3rd place was a tie. Congratulations to Haiden Scott and Lily Walker.
2nd place - Kathryn Ogden.
1st place – Weston Blair.
From 5th grade – Mrs. Pollard’s Homeroom:
3rd place – Eli Roberts.
2nd place – Molly McMullen.
1st place – Claire Ames.
The Overall Award goes to Molly McMullen.
6th Grade
From Miss Carr’s Homeroom:
3rd place – Wade Evans.
2nd place – Anne Marie Ogden.
1st place – Luke Browning.
From Mrs. Noe’s Homeroom:
3rd place – Evan DeAtley.
2nd place – Chad Gillespie.
There was a tie for 1st. Congratulations to Brooklynne Campbell and Clayton Moore
