Bright Elementary
Several students from Bright Elementary participated in the St. Jude's Math-a-Thon during the month of October.
St. Jude's is a children's research hospital that specializes in the treatment of children with cancer. All patients at St. Jude's are given treatments, regardless of their ability to pay. They raise money by having students participate in a Math-a-Thon in which they work math problems for donations from friends and family.
This year, Bright Elementary had 13 students participate in the Math-a-Thon. They raised $573 for St. Jude's. Since Bright Elementary opened, we have raised over $20,000 for the children of St. Jude's. Every student raising over $50 receives a T-shirt, over $100 receives a water bottle, and there are other prizes for higher increments of money raised.
The students participating this year (pictured) are: front, l-r, Lucas Pollard, Mason Greenwood, Addison Hauke, Madison McMullen, Charli Hauke, Sofia Juarez, Jillian Lucas and Meghan Thompson; and back, l-r, Sam Keeton, Molly McMullen, Alexis Kier, Carly Kier and Brooklynne Campbell.
Thank you so much to all our participants for raising money to help sick children.
