Hillsboro High School graduate Kaylynn Bell was recently selected by the University of Rio Grande Alumni Association Council to win the 2017 Clarence “Bevo” Francis Character Award.
The annual award winner is chosen by Rio Grande alumni. To apply, one must be a full-time student in good academic standing; must have at least 24 credit hours completed; must have two letters of recommendation attesting the applicant’s professionalism, character, communication skills, leadership skills and scholastic ability; and must submit a resume and one-page autobiography of the applicant’s career and experience at Rio Grande.

Bell was presented with a certificate and $250 from Student Senate.
Bell is a junior at Rio Grande, where she is majoring in sports and exercise science and is a member of the Rio Redstorm women’s soccer team.
